If my representative already has 5 cadets at USMA, can he/she still make a slate of applicants that can be nominated? Because my understanding was it was 10 candidates(1 slate) for each vacancy at USMA. Thanks
 
Yes. Once the firstie graduates, a new appointment will open up for the incoming plebe.

There are usually 1-2 vacancies each year per class. Someone will have graduated with USMA ‘2020, which theoretically created at least 1 vacancy for the incoming USMA ‘24.

The elected official can submit up to ten names. Let’s say there is one vacancy for an appointment. The SA will charge that appointment to that nom source, and exhaust that source for this cycle. The SA also has the ability to offer appointments to other fully qualified candidates on that slate, following certain guidelines, but those appointments are not charged to the elected official, but a nom authority which says they can do that to fill out the class.
