Just got back from the rehearsal for R-Day.... you new recruits have a LONG day ahead of you. It was AWESOME! I got placed in Charlie Company, ROCK OF THE MARNE!

This post is from 2006, but they still have mock R Day. It happens a few days before the real event, and it's for the cadre to practice. My husband participated and had a ball!

Yes, it is for the cadre to practice...and no, cadet candidate, you may not participate--they will check!
My 2021 and I did this when my 2016 was cadre. It was fun...and we got lunch!
However, I had to report to the cadet in the red sash at least 7 times because we both kept laughing.

Information regarding the practice R-Day will come out a few weeks before the date. I did this a few times but the best was the very first time when I was in high school. My best friend and I could not stop laughing on the bus down from Holleder, so we got yelled at even more, which made us laugh even harder. Good thing we were separated once we got down to the cadet area!

I hope to do this next year! It's such a cool thing. Another parent in the class of 2028 did it last year so he could have the experience before his DS showed up. He said it was a great experience. It includes the part with the Cadet in the Red Sash. Very cool!
