Good Afternoon,

My son went to MEPS this past Monday and Tuesday. He was being briefed about surgical procedures. He had on his paperwork that he had his wisdom teeth out but we didn't put that he had a mole removed because we didn't realize that was a surgical procedure. He is temp DQ because he didn't have it on the original paperwork. He told them about it because he didn't want to get caught lying if they questioned why he had a scar on his back. His recruiter is not happy that he told them the truth about it. We did get his medical records and pathology report which shows no markers. His recruiter is sending his records to MEPS and said he would try and get it approved. But he said not to hold our breathe. Will this DQ him from getting into the service?

@alexander1431
This forum is primarily focused on officer accession programs including the Federal military academies, and ROTC programs. MEPS is an enlisted medical screening program, so our forum is not intended to address your son's issues.

Perhaps someone will post an answer, but I wanted to clarify the difference between MEPS and DoDMERB.

Best wishes to your son's pursuit of enlistment.

A = If your son is old enough to enlist in the military, then he is old enough to follow this procedure through with the Recruiter. The MEPS Chief Medical Officer that reviews his records will be the only one to know the answer to = Will this DQ him from getting into the service?
