Hello,
if i want to joint the motorcycle club at USAFA, Who should i contact ?

I attended a National Safety Council high level fund raising event several years ago in PA. I was representing a major company that is a significant fund provider and player in industrial safety. Sitting next to me at the dinner table was a 3 star AF General-who was in charge of safety programs for the USAF. Expecting an answer very different-I asked him, General what's you biggest safety concern in the Air Force (I expected an answer about NBC weapons or similar). His answer: "Young E-2's getting into motorcycle accidents off the base." Figures.

I suspect every veteran and AD senior enlisted leader and officer here on SAF has a motorcycle story that didn’t end well for one of their people. You never forget them.

For general info, here is a link to USAFA Clubs. Once at USAFA, there are ways to explore clubs. Clubs may also have a Facebook or Insta page you can search for.

All the Services have required safety programs for motorcycle riders. I would be surprised if cadets had motorcycle privileges and had a club, but I always learn something from the experienced AF posters here, and note what @Stealth_81 has already posted.

I don’t know the “regulations “ regarding Cadets and motorcycle privileges or clubs, but I do know my DS took a motorcycle safety class and got his license at WP. I never asked him if he could have a motorcycle while there, but I will try to remember to ask him.

Cadets do have motorcycles on base, but I am not sure of what protocols are in place to have one. Just riding around the parking lot at Vandenburg back in May, I saw at least 20-30 parked in the lot. My DS's roommate had one last year.

Cadets are now allowed motorcycles at USAFA. I also believe they all have to belong to the club

DS said you can have a motorcycle at WP. Don’t know about other SAs, but likely

From USNA regs:
Midshipmen shall not own, operate, or ride a motorcycle, moped, or motor driven bicycle regardless of their leave status.

I think because of USNA’s location and relative ease of getting around, USNA is trying to shove the inevitable risk of that population riding a motorcycle a little bit further down the road. It seems every few years, though, there is a fatal motorcycle accident involving a midshipman on leave.

So is there a motorcycle club at usafa? What are the rules for cadets?

Sounds like a movie title:

Tom Cruise's Top Gun III: Inevitable Risk coming Summer 2026!

or motor driven bicycle
This surprises me as I read it as the electric hill assist bicycles like my parents have in Florida. They don't go very fast at all. Just a regular bike but with a small assist for hills...would be a shame if a mid got in trouble for riding grandma's bike over break!

Yes, it's listed in the clubs through the link above.
It's just listed... No info. I found in the usafa 100 pg rules and regulations that only C3C and c4c can have them. They have to be in the club and go through training, thank goodness. My recognized Doolie was asking is about it.

There is normally a google form sent out for people to join the Motorcycle Club, but even in the club, your doolie is NOT allowed to maintain a motorcycle at USAFA.

Cadets received an email from Lt Col Guyette at the beginning of this month with a google forms link to join the club. PM me for the POC if that does not work.

The do not call them "Donor Cycles" for nothing! I am so scared of distracted drivers that my ride is in my garage in pieces and road bicycling is very scary with people always on their phones. Probably riding on base is safe.
