Sir, I recently took the medical exam for an Army ROTC scholarship application. Everything was perfect except for one slight problem in my right ear. A few days prior to this exam, I cleaned my right ear and removed a significant amount of ear wax. Right after that, I realized my right ear was experiencing tinnitus. I took the medical exam and the following anomaly occured: on 3000 cycles/ 65 dB and on 4000 cycles/ 60 dB. According to Army Fitness standards, I would be disqualified based on the 3000 cycle result. I really hope not as I had this problem once before and it did not affect my military performance in any way at the Air Force Academy. The elevation and lack of oxygen caused the tinnitus then but it went away after a while. Now, my sudden clearing of my ears caused my current tinnitus but it does not affect my daily life and I can assure you it will not affect my performance in ROTC. I have the full backing and recommendation of my entire cadre chain of command after working with them for a semester. Any help would be appreciated and I hope this slight temporary condition can be overlooked in the bigger picture.

Thank you for your time.

Update

Roger that, sir. Just as an update, the tinnitus in my right ear slowly disappeared not even 24 hours after my exam. Now I will try to go back and retake the hearing test to get more accurate results and send those to Concorde.

Roger. Email response already sent to you:thumb:
