MS Nominations

Figured I'd create a thread for Mississippi nominations if there is anyone active on here from MS other than me. I haven't seen a MS nom thread, so if there is one, my apologies I got a USAFA nom from Senator Cochran, Senator Wicker, and Congressman Palazzo (district 4). I also got a USNA nom from Palazzo. Good luck to any other Mississippians on here!

My DS received nominations from Senators Wicker and Cochran, and Rep. Kelly for the Airforce Academy. Senator Wicker and Rep Kelly nominated to USMA, and Rep Kelly nominated him to The Naval Academy. He received an appointment earlier the week to USMA. He is going to wait a little while before accepting to see if he gets appointments to the other two. He is leaning towards Air Force if he has a choice. But he is on cloud nine for his USMA appointment. He will absolutely be attending a service academy, that was his goal.

I was notified by a call from Senator Cochran's office. I was in the same boat she's in about waiting till I make a decision. I've got a USNA appointment as well. This will be a hard choice.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, my DS has a USMA appointment and is waiting to see if he gets any additional appointments. Sounds like all of you guys/ladies are in the same boat with decisions on which academy to choose. That's a pretty good problem to have at this point. I don't think there is a "bad" decision to be made. Good luck to all of you!

My DD mentioned she heard of another USAFA appointment from south MS. I haven't seen it mentioned on this site and don't know the source of her intel.

My DS just informed me of another USMA appointment and acceptance in north MS. It's not on this site either but I saw the twitter post so I assume it's legit.

I think your referring to my DS 141, he was probably heard in south Mississippi when he received the call!

I got a USNA appt. off of Palazzo's nom and a USAFA off of Cochran's nom. Palazzo and Cochran's representatives called me back in February to notify me, but I missed Palazzo's call (thanks to school) and got a voicemail instead. I picked USAFA

I hope that is the news you were asking about because that's all I've got

We're going to Gregg Harper's academy day in Madison next Saturday (4/1).

My DS declined USMA today and accepted USAFA. He was nominated by Senators Wicker, Cochran, and Representitive Kelly. All three called to inform him of his appointments so I have no idea whose slate will be freed up at USMA and whose slate will be charged at USAFA.

DS received USAFA nominations from Senators Cochran and Wicker, and Congressman Kelly. USNA from Kelly. Got the call from Congressman Kelly's office on 3/14 for USAFA. This forum has been a great source of information. Congratulations to all who have received appointments, and good luck to the ones still waiting.

Hi, Im looking to apply to the service academy next year. Does anyone know how many people apply for a service academy nomination in MS? Do you believe MS is highly competitive when trying to acquire a nomination? Does anyone know how hard it is to receive one from Harper"s office?
