Hello, I'm just curious about how frequently candidates receive multiple nominations. I was quite surprised, and definitely ecstatic, that I was selected for both senatorial nominations as well as the congressional nomination, as I thought they coordinated to "spread the love."

That is exceptionally rare. You must be an outstanding student and athlete with strong leadership and community resume. Is it a small state?

They may coordinate in your state but if they don't have a significant number of qualified candidates, sometimes a candidate will end up receiving nominations from all three sources.

According to another recent thread (there have been several in recent weeks on this topic) the academies are well informed of the dynamics at work with nominations, state competitiveness, etc. Regardless of why, congratulations! You should feel good. It puts you in a good position to compete for an appointment. Good luck!

Congrats! Not to rain on the parade, but don't read too much into it. If your state does not coordinate then this happens sometimes. It does not increase your odds of an appointment in and of itself. Some MOCs don't even use all of their noms so its not necessarily a sign of anything.

Awesome! Thank you for the clarifications and encouragement!

Absolutely, I was honestly just curious more than anything!

It is a good sign that they think you are competitive, but certainly doesn't guarantee anything.

My son received noms from a Senator and a congressman. We were definitely surprised. Still a waiting game. He did receive an AROTC scholarship a few weeks ago so that’s helped ease his (and our) impatience.

Good luck!!

To you as well! I'm in the second round for AFROCT scholarships as I turned in my application after the first round deadline. Should hear back on or around March 5th as stated on the portal. Congrats on the scholarship!!
