Multiple noms?

Hi everyone! I just have a quick question.

So I applied to 4 service academies, 3 of which need a nomination to even have a chance for an appointment. I just finished my 2 Senator interviews and my Congressional one, and received a nom to USMA, and haven't heard back from the other two yet. I'm just wondering how things work if they knew that I applied for 3 schools, but I may just receive 3 noms to USMA. If that happens, then I simply won't have a chance for USNA and USAFA considering the nomination situation...is this correct? I also am wondering what the point would be in applying for 3 of the academies (not to spite), if you know you can only receive a possible nom to the top school of your choice...
Thank you for your help!

Each MOC conducts their own boards and selection process. In some states MOCs coordinate and will only give 1 nom to 1 SA to each candidate. Some do this to max noms in their states. Other states don't coordinate and candidates get multiple nominations to multiple SAs. Also remember there are VP and Supt Noms for each SA also (there are many others) that candidates would qualify for.

Okay that clears some things up, thank you! But also, i think my state does coordinate. I already received one nomination to USMA, but what happens if I get another to USMA, and then just none for AFA/USNA? The MOCs made the applicants rank their choices, so I don't see how candidates wanting to apply for 3 service academies will even get a chance at getting a nomination for 2 different schools. Ill just have to wait and find out. Thank you for your help!!
