What do you people think? I think my athletics are a bit weak. And does West Point consider the Writing part of the ACT very important? Any advice? Cheers! :shake:

Test scores are great, your writing score is fine. It's a hurdle (doesn't add or take away points, just got to get over the threahold) and you cleared it. Athletics - you're a team captain, what more do you think you could do? It should be strong enough.

The real question would be why you declined SLE. MIT be something you want to talk to your RC about.

I am a fellow candidate, so my opinion only carries so much weight, but I would say you look pretty competitive based on the others that I have seen.

However, I did attend SLE and I remember interacting with quite a few people from MI, in some cases multiple attendees from the same district, so the competition you are up against may also be quite competitive.

As for the writing score, I remember a Major in the admissions office talking about it during SLE. I believe he said that WP wanted candidates to take the writing section to see how they did but that it ultimately was not that significant.
