Hi, I think I may have some problem when I start the application process. When my parents signed me up to my school district they used my nick name, Alex. My real name in fact is Aleksey, but all of my school records have the name Alex. For example, a kid could be called Billy by his teacher and peers, but official records have him under William. It is not under Aleksey for me under the official records, but it's Alex.

Thank you in advance for any assistance you can give me.

For the application you must use the name on your birth certificate. I had a similar situation but my name was very similar so they didn't really ask. I would call the academy and tell them the situation or get the school to put your real name on records.

Yeah +1 to what America's Finest said. This is small, and can be fixed with one phone call. Don't sweat the small stuff! If USMA wants you, then they can make a lotta stuff bigger than this become a non issue.

Well I went to guidance at my school, I got them to change my name to Aleksey, so from now on any records would have my legal name. Basically, the only things important that had my nick name where my awards, and NHS membership. Everything is sorted out!

See, it was that simple. Just add a little footnote with anything you submit with "Alex" in it explaining the situation.
