Recently, I found out that I made a mistake on my CAC Card/DEERS Information when I contracted. I left out my second name on my contract (technically part of my legal first name) and at the time, I wasn’t aware that my second name was part of my first name. My name is unusual as it contains 4 parts plus a suffix ( 2 parts-first, 1 middle, 1 last, suffix). I contacted my HRA about the issue and she was able to update my name on CCIMMS. Regarding my CAC/DEERS info, she told me that she had no control over that. When I contacted the DMDC official over the phone, she informed me that since I am still under AROTC, my PMS/HRA would have to send DEERS an update on my information and that would be the way to fix it. However, is there a way I can handle this myself by showing my birth certificate/government documentation? The RAPIDS Center also told me that they don’t do name changes at their facilities and that the information given to them is through DEERS.
Any advice would help.
