So staying would be wrong because it wastes resources, but accepting the appointment to begin with is ok even, though you had the propensity to quit in the face of adversity and thereby taking a spot from an otherwise qualified candidate?Have you been a midshipman? I have watched people quit for very good reasons (USMA experience not USNA experience). They might have an injury or have a family need that was not part of the plan. Whenever you recognize it is the wrong path you should leave as soon as possible. To stay is to waste more resources.
