NAPS Class of 2022 Appointment List

It’s October, Admissions is looking at the first puzzle pieces to make up the Class of 2025, LOAs are being drafted for some small number of the class, applications are coming in, nom interviews are starting up, DoDMERB hurdles are being tackled and the list begins.

General suggestions/guidance:

- Resist posting until there is an offer of appointment in hand/portal and you have certainty.
- If you have an LOA, sit tight, wait until you have an actual offer of appointment. You will know it when you see it.
- This thread is for USNAPS (NAPS).
- Try not to go off on tangents and ask questions about other topics here, so “the list” is the primary focus.
- It’s recommended to not put your District, for privacy reasons. With the mosaic theory of intelligence, identities can be ferreted out and associated with your other questions or comments.
- “Direct” will indicate right from high school.
- ’Prior” will indicate prior enlisted.

HOW TO ADD A NAME: This is DIY self-reporting and self-updating the full list. Mods don't update the list. Kindly posters occasionally do, but the burden falls on posters to copy the list, add their entry and post the updated list. Ditto for later edits from Undecided and then re-posting the entire updated list.

HOW TO CREATE UPDATED LIST:
Method 1, on full website.
Copy the most recent list, paste into your new post, use the next number, enter your info in a similar format, post. If you don’t do this, and just post an entry and not the updated list, you risk the next poster updating the last list, the one without your name, and leaving you stranded and off the list.

Method 2, works well on mobile site on smartphone.
Start a new post by Quoting the most recent complete list. Delete the “quote stuff” at the beginning and end of the list. You now have a complete all-text list that will not act like a Quote. At the end of that list, choose the next number and add your entry. Post.

Don’t forget to go back and update Undecideds! Same methods as above, just edit your original entry

FORMAT for New Entry:

Next appointment number
SAF forum name/self, DD, DS/LOA or No LOA/Date of Appointment Notification/Accepted or Declined or Undecided/Nom sources, including State, MOC or Sen/Other Nominations, college re-applicant or applicant, direct appoint from HS, prior enlisted

SAMPLE ENTRY:
1)BaconFiend/DD/No LOA/Jan 7/Accepted/VA-Sen, Presidential Nom/direct appoint
2) Comet/Self/No LOA/Feb 10/Undecided/no nom/Prior

First time I have seen someone with an LOA go to NAPS. Perhaps we have some term conflation going on. People going to NAPS do get a letter (not sure if paper or portal) giving them an appointment to NAPS, but not a Letter of Assurance that leads to a USNA appointment, after certain conditions are met.

But - we all know there are no hard and fast rules about LOAs, and SAs are free to use them as they see fit!

I was wondering the same thing but it was listed in the instructions above LOL! He has a letter offering to attend NAPS which of course is subject to his waiver being approved. Should we remove the LOA in that part of the format?

Yes, do, if you still have time, otherwise an entire new line of inquiries on how to get an “LOA to NAPS” will be generated. I wrote those original instructions for the Appointment thread, and the person who started this thread just copied. I will suggest a new format.

yeah sorry about that I just wanted to start one because I have also been accepted to NAPS contingent on receiving my medical waiver, which is being processed right now

Congratulations to everyone who has been offered NAPs. My DS is currently there as a Coast Guard scholar.

The work schedule is grueling so time management will be an absolute priority for you making it through your year.

Hopefully COVID restrictions will relax soon but the class of 2021 have essentially been restricted to base since their arrival last July. No Thanksgiving break no Spring break and practically no off base liberty (I think there were 3 weekends where off base liberty was allowed). Remember when the going gets tough it’s a means to an end.

Yes, you can!
I am on iPhone, using the mobile SAF site. Not sure about other smartphones.
In the same menu bar as the Bold, Underline, font size, etc., there are several dot menus for various editing functions. One of them brings up an icon that looks like an artist’s color palette board. Standard colors plus customizable hex color menu.

I probably should hold off on asking this question - but do Foundation offers also get posted here or in a different thread? My DD hasn't received anything yet... (waiting, waiting, waiting). But thinking it would be nice to see those offers coming in as well.
