I received a letter saying that I have been selected for a spot at NAPS. It said I had requirements left to complete. Which was my BGO interview and Medical Examination. I am in hopes of receiving a waiver. I have both of those completed and confirmed by my regional coordinator. However there has been no change in my CIS portal and my DODMERB portal. What do I do? Or do I just wait a little bit longer?

The good thing is they are done and confirmed. Updating the status board which faces you will get done eventually. Think of the thousands of updates that are happening right now across the system from thousands of applicants.

Even if you jumped on the Admissions live chat widget on USNA.edu, they would probably say the same thing.

Go read everything about NAPS, go PT, enjoy yourself in the here and now with family and friends.

Here’s a link to the NAPS booklet from 2019-2020. They get tweaked from year to year.

Congrats on NAPS and a likely appointment to Class of 2026!

Hey do you know if you can only be academically dq to attend NAPS? Do they have people who are physically dq or medically dq attend NAPS?

You cannot be medically disqualified and offered the prep school, I would also guys that technically you could be physically disqualified but I am not sure the academy would want someone the does not pass the CFA.

I think that I answered this one in another thread. I've seen many many people come into the Academies via the Prep route. Those selected for Prep have invariably been for Academic brush-up and not for Medical or Physical (CFA) issues. I'm not saying that the Physical could never happen but I've never seen it nor heard of it.

Congrats. My son went through the same thing with extended dodmerb completion. Didn’t seem to move until we reached out with emails and calls..

Today I went on the USNA live admissions chat and asked about my medical waiver status. One of the admissions people said he’ll check on it. About 5 mins went by and he told me that I received an LOA to NAPS and that my waiver process will begin soon. One question I have is, does this mean I am accepted to NAPS? Today was literally the day I knew about my LOA, I didn’t receive an email or mail talkin about an LOA given to me.

Pause a moment to breathe, but I think if an LOA to NAPS is headed your way, that means you are in at NAPS, IF the medical waiver process is successful for you. I suspect your portal will update soon. I would venture you to say you are allowed to do a modest happy dance before settling back into wait mode. Good for you for taking advantage of the live chat!

Congrats!! such a HUGE accomplishment in itself especially in times like these. Enjoy the journey and cherish this time as you prepare for a new and exciting season!!

For people who were accepted into NAPS how long did it take for your medical waiver to be processed if you were medically disqualified?
