Hi, I received an offer to NAPS in mid January and accepted it the same day. It has been almost two months, and I haven’t received any further information. Has anyone else who received an offer gotten details about the report date, or any next steps?

Thank you so much for all the answers

Well done on the NAPS spot.

Keep an eye on this link. It will be updated for your class (NAPS 2026) May-ish. Right now it has the current NAPS class info. Browse through it all, especially the link and the Student Information Guide. Much does not change year to year. Dates will, a little bit.

Congrats on getting the Golden Ticket

My DD attended NAPS c/o 2024. As the Captain stated it will be around mid-May before you get any correspondence from USNA/NAPS. One thing you can do in the meantime is find the local Navy recruiter who can handle your enlistment into the Navy. NAPS requires you to enlist as an E-1 in order to pay you. So for the 10 months at NAPS you are an enlisted sailor. Don't worry - you report to the Academy two days prior to Induction day to be mustered out of the Navy. Then on Induction day you take the oath again and are back in the Navy as a USNA midshipman.

The office must have an officer assigned in order to give you the oath - many only have Chiefs and they cannot administer the oath. Other options are current or retired officers from any service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Coast Guard, etc.). If you go that route make sure they know your induction date at the recruitment office. You will need the letter from USNA/NAPS and filled out documents to enlist - also you must bring in your HS Diploma - so enlistment is after graduation for most. I bring this up as my daughter had a hard time finding a local recruitment office that would accept her - as a NAPS recruit does not add to the Chief's quota they don't care to spend the time and most do not know about NAPS - even though it is in their recruitment book.

you will get a packet to print and complete

pay particular attention to the enlistment aspects, you will need to go to a recruiters office, however, you will HAVE to be sworn in by a Commissioned officer that day. Most enlisted recruiters have zero clue of the procedures, or have even heard of NAPS to begin with, which will need to be done, lots of paperwork they don't get any credit for. Best to find a regional office which does in fact have an active duty officer. It can get stressful if in a remote area

we had to drive 3 hrs to the closest recruiter

Good info!

One other source for an officer is your closest NROTC unit.
