My son ih his lifetime has received two prescriptions for vicodan. Probably a total of 10 or so pills. The first 6 years ago when he was hit in the face with a baseball, and the second when he had wisdom teeth extracted several years ago. Does question 7 refer to this type of "use" or is it referring to illegal or regular use of drugs?

So if you want to fill it out to the letter of the law, then you should mark Yes to the narcotics portion of that question. At question 83 simply write this:
"7: Prescribed Vicodin for medical treatment in XXXX and XXXX. No other narcotic use."
Insert the years for the X's and you'll be good to go. The examiner will look at it and probably laugh for being so honest, and make a notation on his page and then nothing more will likely ever be said of it.
The best way is to always be honest on these forms to the best of your memory.
