One bit of advice that my son found to be incredibly helpful.
You will have an opportunity to take the CFA at NASS. Take full advantage of this! Crush it and be done with that piece. If you start preparing now you will be ready. Have the mindset that this is the final exam. This removes a lot of pressure later.

Speaking of the CFA during NASS, where is the mile run generally held? Is it on a track or on a path?

I went to NASS last year and they held ours on a 200m indoor track

This is coming from someone who did the CFA last year at NASS. As for the run, you are on an indoor track with about fifty other kids so try to be one of the first out of the pack so you can avoid the crowd.

Agreed with SA2023. I was happy with my score, but I ended up retaking it mainly due to running with so many kids on the track. My time was almost 50 seconds less the second time and I got a much better sleep the night before and was able to increase all of my scores. Getting out of the way is really nice, but there is always room for improvement.
