NASS Rejection

Hi All,

Unfortunately, I did not get into NASS and I am disappointed because I was not even waitlisted. All of my friends that I met at CVW and other Navy programs also got rejected.. how transparent is this through the application?

Honestly, I was looking forward to spending a week in Annapolis but i'll probably be looking at the Sports Camps to fulfill this. But, Ill be down in USAFA in early June for SS so I'm extremely hyped for that!

Honestly, people who have attended a CVW and other Navy programs, have already been exposed to USNA. You really aren’t the target audience if NASS. WHICH is a recruiting/spread the word/exposure about USNA program. Not a competitive ‘we want you’ one.

Don’t read anything into a ‘no’. In fact, it used to be that you were offered a CVW, or NASS, but not both. Which gets more kids exposed to USNA.

MOST of the population of USNA, have not attended NASS. Both of my sons were rejected for USAFA SA…we are geographically close, and can visit on our own.

^ This --- just a couple years ago CVW and NASS were either /or opportunties-- you got one or the other. That is not longer the case officially , but if the objective to get as many candidates exposure to USNA, it has to be a factor.,
 
Concur with the above advice. There is little correlation between being offered Summer Seminar and earning an offer of appointment. NASS is a recruiting tool. Plenty of USNA appointees did not get the chance to attend NASS (Myself included).
