I will be apart of a new district starting January 1st. Will I be able to get a nomination from the new congressman? Or will it be from the district I am in right now?

Contact the Academy nom staffers at the current office and ask how it’s being handled. These things happen. You shouldn’t be shut out of a nom opportunity.

@landlover we are in a similar situation in that our address will fall in a newly created congressional district for the Nov '22 election. Based on @Capt MJ 's sounds advice, we reached out to our current MOC's office (in what is currently our district). They were incredibly helpful and pointed out that most likely the new MOC's office will be reaching out to them to align on process since portions of their current district will move to the newly created congressional district. Upon their advice, we went ahead and registered on our current MOC's website so that they could include us in their info sessions this Fall. But they were clear that any decision regarding nomination would be made by the new MOC who takes office in January 2023.

I should add that my son will be applying to the class of 2028. Based on which class you belong to, your situation may vary. Best to check.

This is pretty common. My own son went through the same thing. As @Capt MJ advised, contact the current office. Chances are, you will apply to whoever your current MOC is, at the time of application. The important thing is, don't worry about this one.

This is the most likely path because the nomination process is mostly complete by the time a new member of Congress is sworn in to office in January. That new district will probably not have their nominations process established yet. Of course this only applies to applicants for the class of 2027 as it will be a non-issue for 2028. However, as noted above, talk to your current member of Congress's office and get their feedback.
