New March 31st deadline?

I think I see what is happening. My daughter says her portal shows that some items updated for her with today as the date confirmed/updated. So maybe theyre just trying to process documents and scores they have received over the past two weeks and needed the portal open to do so.

Even though I have already been offered an appointment, the new deadline "Feb 5" has just shown up for me as well. My college transcript has still not been checked off even though I have an appointment, so I am also not sure if this is a glitch. Also, does anyone know if we are meant to receive an email if we are appointed, or if we just get a change in status in our portal? I haven't received any emails or details other than a call from my congresswoman and that change in status. Also, does anyone know if candidates are receiving those blue folders this year, and what time they are normally sent out around?
I know people get the folders still but of course it’s coming through snail mail

Does everyone's portal now say February 5, 2024?
Or is it possibly an indication of when candidates are scheduled for board review? Maybe?

My DS's says February 5, 2024.

Not gonna lie, i would be so mad if they extended it without telling us before hand. I wanted to take the Feb 10 SAT but didnt see a point because its after the date.

And it would give the "less motivated" candidates more of an opportunity. Which i know sounds bad for me to say but the people who ACTUALLY
want to be at the SA will make the effort to get everything in as early as possible and extending it would allow someone who may be more qualified but less motivated to take the appointment over someone who is motivated and, In my JROTC experience, those who are more motivated end up doing way better than those who aren't.

Just my take.
I saw that the IT department at USNA acknowledged that it was a mistake, but I want to point out that sometimes academies do move deadlines without notifying applicants. For example, USAFA moved its November deadline this year back 14 days because so many applicants weren't getting their stuff in on time.

Can you even imagine the phone calls streaming into admissions this morning? Those poor people. Lol.

I am in the same boat - I only received a call from my MOC telling me I've been offered with a status change in my portal but no email.

Perhaps it's all coming soon. Will you be accepting your offer soon or waiting for other school decisions to come out?

I just received an email from USNA now!

Mine says 5 February. As for March 31st, that used to be the deadline to submit the CFA, (which was separate to the application in the past) but I’m unsure if that has any significance

What did it say?!
It was just an email congratulating me on my acceptance and some interesting facts about USNA. The only important information was:

'"Message to Future Midshipmen" available within the Candidate Information System (CIS). Please indicate whether or not you accept this offer of appointment within CIS as soon as you have made your decision, but no later than May 1, 2024.

Induction Day for the Class of 2028 is tentatively scheduled for June 27 2024. After you accept this offer of appointment, you will receive additional instructions including your specific report time on Induction Day.'

I cannot find the "Message to Future Midshipmen", does anyone know which tab this might be located under?

Question: On the Main USNA CIS page, "Status" = "Pending" means...?

Son has submitted all documents, completed application, & received nomination. DoDMERB complete (single DQ across the board but waived by some programs already, needs USNA waiver).

His understanding is that the next step is the admissions board then medical review?
