For the actual US AFA application opening today, does my DS have to create a different log in/profile from Summer Seminar? He logged in to that and there is no part that has the 2026 application for him to start.
Thanks!

When I applied to the Class of 2025, I used the same login/profile as I used to apply for Summer Seminar. However, I believe USAFA is using a new platform for the Class of 2026 (my portal says the Class of 2025 was the last class to apply on the old platform), so it may be a bit different than my experience.

Great thanks-so does he have to click “sign up” to start a new profile? And will his information from Summer Seminar be transferred over or is it a start from scratch situation?
Thanks in advance for insights!

Even if he did click to use his SS application as his PCQ, he will still have to start a new application and input some additional information that wasn't asked during the SS application (SSN, certification, etc.) I clicked to use my SS application for my PCQ, so all of the information that I used for the SS application was already entered in for the PCQ, which helps, but yes, you do have to submit another application. Hope this helped!

Hello !

Do you guys think it is safe to upload a scan of my SSN? I saw this, but I'm a bit hesitant.

In the precandidate booklet it says it's needed to 'allow for streamlined processes between the USAFA application and the medical application.' I wouldn't be too concerned, thousands of applicants go through the same thing every year and there haven't been any issues that I've heard of regarding uploading your SSN

Yes, I am having the same problem. When I enter my application portal that I used for SS, there doesn’t appear to be anywhere for me to begin a PCQ. Has anyone found out how to open the application for PCQ in their portal if they also applied to SS yet?

Right so on that new portal page you click “sign up” rather than “sign in” correct?

The portal I used for my SS application was the new portal, so I am slightly confused but I am guessing y'all used the old portal? Regardless, yes, you have to create a new account for the new portal if you haven't created one already. Once you are in the portal you should see a heading called 'My Applications', and to the right of it (or maybe below) it should have a big blue button which says 'start new'. Once you click that button there will be two drop-down menus, one will ask for which program you are applying for, and the second one asks for which term (there should only be one option for both menus, USAFA for the first one and Fall 2022 for the second).

The portal that you applied for SS on is no longer active. The c/o 2025 cycle is the last one to use the old portal. Admissions came out with a new updated portal like Navy did last cycle.

here’s the new portal:

I thought the SS application was in the new portal already, I could be wrong though. Thank you for your help

Sounds good he will give that a try. I was just wondering if when he went to sign up for a new one it would not let him since his email is already registered for the summer seminar portal.

Right this is what I was thinking too. And when he logs in to that portal it just has summer seminar information but no where to start an academy application.

Good luck! That shouldn't be a problem since I used the same email for SS and even clicked the option to use the SS app for my PCQ, and I had no problem opening a new PCQ. The portal does have a few issues so I wouldn't worry too much if you can't open one right now (I tried to open another one just to see if it would work and I couldn't).

There have already been a few issues on the portal for me (can't enter school info, test scores, etc.) so I assume they are just fixing the portal up a bit and might've shut down new applications for a while. Does the button to start a new application show up for you at all? Just curious

Not on the Summer Seminar page which at the top says Academy Application. But he has not tried to create a whole new profile just yet. Sounds like some of the kinks are coming up and hopefully being worked out. Thanks and good luck on yours!! 😀😀
