I agree, and I can empathize. My DD received hers while sitting in class with the only other USNA applicant/appointee from her school. Hard to keep it together anyway, even harder when sitting next to someone who is on the other side of the fence. However, that said... her friends and classmates were tremendous. And, I believe it was a tough but valuable lesson. But my heart hurt for her. I am so sorry for your DS's TWE, but now that we are 2 weeks beyond I can honestly say that once these kids wrap their heads around their other Plan A's, they will commit whole heartedly and you will see that sense of satisfaction, acceptance, and excitement for the next four year. Congrats to him on a job well done... it was a rough road. I want to wish him the very best as he continues to work towards becoming an officer.
