Hello, everyone. We are an active duty family. We're in our late 30s, and have a 10 year old child. Since the AD member is nearing retirement and we will be remaining in the Springs, we are becoming a sponsor family and will also be hosting for Doolie Day for the first time.

Since there are a few current and former cadets on here, I'm wondering if you guys could share exactly what is most appreciated or liked from sponsor families, especially on Doolie Day.

Obviously food, relaxation, nap spaces, etc.

Food, dogs, and just a comfortable space to hang out, relax, sleep , talk on phone. Thank you for your service and thanks for willing to be a comfortable source for the new doolies.

My husband and I are current sponsor parents & we've hosted Basic Cadets for DDO for the past 12 years.
The priorities for the cadets on DDO have always been EATING, calling friends & family, sleeping, repeat...

My DS, Class of 2027, said he most appreciated a space where he could be completely alone, which allowed him to decompress, if that helps.
