New Tomcat Documentary Summer 2020

The Aluminum Cloud, designed solely to get the AIM-54 Phoenix and the AWG-9 radar into the air.

This looks great... The mighty Tomcat is my all time favorite jet — it was a beautiful aircraft from the amazing Grumman Ironworks. This documentary coincides with the Top Gun movie sequel and a new book by the first CO of Topgun, Captain Dan Pedersen, USN.

Pride and glory of America...such a beautiful aircraft, along with the FA-18 SUPER HORNET!!!

DANGER ZONE
-
Kenny Loggins

Revvin' up your engine
Listen to her howlin' roar
Metal under tension
Beggin' you to touch and go
Highway to the danger zone
Ride into the danger zone
Headin' into twilight
Spreadin' out her wings tonight
She got you jumpin' off the track

Highway to the danger zone
I'll take you
Ridin' into the danger zone
You'll never say hello to you
Until you get it on the red line overload
You'll never know what you can do

Always where I burn to be
The further on the edge
The hotter the intensity
Highway to the danger zone
Gonna take you
Right into the danger zone
Highway to the…

I know this is sacrilege to Navy (and I hope my now Youngster DD doesn't see this), but the F-15 is still my first love.

As the most beautiful and capable fighter jet, that is. With respect to my dear departed father, the X-15 is the best test platform and the B-1 is the best strategic bomber, both of which he helped to design.

Sorry, personal bias does not answer to objective analysis.

I get it. I still love the Phantom. Never flew one, but that big ugly sled was just neat to me.
It certainly was proof that thrust could win out against aerodynamics, every time. :)
