DS received his official scholarship certificate in today's mail. He, and we, were quite pleased. It really is a nice gesture. I like the frame/folder it comes in, and the print showing Cadet Command HQ at Ft. Knox is a nice touch.

Anyone else get theirs today? Congratulations again to all the January board winners!

Yes we got ours a few days ago. They are really nice. I do a short video of all his acceptances/openings and didn't video this....when I told him I missed it he said "you can get video when they present the big fake check at the scholarship banquet"

Loved the Army certificate in a fancy folder my DD received. I was hoping the Navy did something similar, but nothing so far. 🤣

Yeah, Go Army!

I think that's the first time I've ever said that. I guess I'm allowed to be biased now that my DS has gotten scholarship, right?

Absolutely! I have always rooted for Army as my DD will commission this spring, and now my son is an NROTC scholarship recipient so idk what I’m gonna do. Not to mention that my eldest is Air Force.
So I guess, go Military! 🤣

Look at it this way; whenever the SAs compete against one another, you are bound to come out a winner!

If you ask your local Navy recruiting office, I think they might be able to do a Big Check presentation somewhere, like at the office or your high school

DD received AROTC packet today. It was a nice surprise. Navy *did* not about notifying local NROTC unit about her senior awards ceremony so they could do the giant check. But, at this point, I think it’s AROTC or USAFA for her

There's a banquet, we weren't aware of that.

High schools have awards banquets and sometimes the local ROTC will come and give a big check to the scholarship winner. It's all done at the local level.

Our HS has a several hour long scholarship banquet. It is pretty well done. I posted a youtube video of it. Heck when I watch it today I still get a little choked up watching my middle son get recognized.
