No Appointment or TWE....just Crickets

DS would jump on a Falcon scholarship and we would encourage him to take it!
 
Those of you that received TWE's today... are you still in the running for prep school, or did it say that prep school was also out? My DS's TWE said he was not being selected for either back on April 7th.

Son's friend got TWE today. I really hoped he wouldve gotten in
 
DS received the dreaded TWE - FL21. He has already made the deposit on plan B and will attend FSU in the fall. Good luck to those still in Candidate status or receiving appointments.

TWE for DD. Sad, but excited about plan B. Glad the wait is over. Good luck to all those waiting.
 
My DS got his TWE at 4:09pm EST. Plan B... 4 year scholarship AROTC.

Is everyone that is receiving a TWE getting them in the portal? Mine is still just saying candidate, nothing else.

Our athletes are definitely tied to their sports! It is part of their identity. I have thought the same about my sons wrestling if he were to go FF prep. We have discussed because from what I have read if you get offered a FF prep spot they don't give you much time to reply and pick which prep school you want yo go to. Plus my son is really leaning toward a plan B school that doesn't have NCAA wrestling. I think he realizes his future is about more than his chosen sport. No professional wrestlers you know. :)

While you are waiting to hear about FF check out MMI in Alabama. It has a top notch wrestling program with some former Olympians as coaches I believe. A dad of a FF grad shared some great info about the school, and in my searching on their website and YouTube videos, I happened to see their wrestling featured.

My son and I were discussing MMI and the wrestling team. Unfortunately Physicsguru who is in admin at MMI, exact position not sure, told us that both wrestling coaches are retiring and they are not hiring new ones. MMI is going with some different sports, but that wrestling will remain as a club. I didn't see any other Private prep with IC wrestling. :(
 
I called admissions again yesterday afternoon (#stalkermom). They said DS is listed as canidate still, but at this point if you don't have an appointment you should be locking in plan B. Canidates left are QNV...qualified no vacancy. More appointments will come as others refuse theirs..probably around the May 1st deadline and after.

Does this apply to Lead applicants as well?
 
I called the academy and talked with an admissions counselor for about 30 mins a couple days ago... Unfortunately, I asked about presidential nominations, and he said all the presidential appointments have been given out.
 
I received my TWE yesterday, and was not able to get a prep school consideration, it's off to Plan B for Chemistry for me where I joined ROTC hours before getting my TWE. Very excited to join ROTC, and the commander was very understanding when I explained I am reapplying to USAFA, USNA, and USMA for next year, and need be the year after that.
