No Science Senior Year?

I would like to know what source is "confirming" this.

It's one of the current plebes that is authorized to post on the closed group Facebook page for 2018 appointees. Several cadets have been admitted to the group to answer questions from the incoming cadets.

I won't put her name here but she basically said the biology course is being added for the Class of 2018 and beyond and that the new science curriculum for the first two years will be

1 semester Chemistry
1 semester Biology
1 semester Physics
1 additional semester of one of the above three (sounded like cadet choice)

The administrator for the group said she "is checking into" whether it is true.

I find that odd, as we don't have a biology department here...the closest you can get is life science, which is primarily chem...

I think the Facebook group would be better served by having someone from the Dean's office answer such questions.

Those of us who have been plebes know better than to believe "news" from other plebes.

Did West Point suddenly hire 7 or so Biology professors? I doubt West Point will just tell Chemistry Instructor to teach Biology. Say 1000 plebes, 20 per class, than 50 classes, 25 classes per semester, 4 classes per professor, than 7 professors or so. I don't see the size of West Point faculty increasing.

I meant confirming as in she is looking into it. A current plebe there is the one who told us because her actual chemistry professor told her about the possible change in curriculum. Obviously nothing is definite every year but that is what I heard.

Two semesters of chemistry/two of physics makes a lot of sense---not sure why they would drop that requirement. Although as more of a humanities/social sciences/biology person, I am intrigued.
