Nomination granted wrong Service Academy

Hi All! My son recieved his nomination today but it was for his 3rd pick of branches. He has had his heart set on the Air Force Academy and even was chosen to attend Summer Camp. My question is I guess ... where do we go from here?
Hello everyone! First I’d like to say thank you to each of you for your replies. Let me maybe clear a few things up: My son filled out 2 applications for nominations, one to our state Governor and one for our area Congressman. On the application he was to rank each branch as to preference 1 - 4 etc.. it DID NOT
SAY TO LEAVE BLANK IF ANY ARE NOT PREFERRED. So he did that with 1. USAFA
2. Army 3. USMMA 4. Navy as per instructions. He does not know how to swim very well, he can swim but has been traumatized of water. Hence USMMA OR NAVY WOULD NOT BE A PREFERENCE but per application instruction he ranked them accordingly.! I hope this might clear some things up. WE ARE EXTREMELY GRATEFUL FOR THE CONGRESSMANS NOMINATION...

While arguably the MOC application misled your DS, I think that including academies he does not want to attend as “preferences” was a mistake. It may be that his best option is to contact his MOC. That may not help, but worth a try. Still, DS needs to take responsibility for his mistake. Otherwise, DS will need to determine plans B, etc. perhaps that will include considering USMMI or USCGA where no nom is required, but swimming is an issue, or ROTC, and/or reapplying. Good luck.
