Nomination Received

My daughter found out today that she received a Congressional Nomination (state of OK)! It hasn't been uploaded to the portal and the other two MOCs haven't released their nomination lists yet. Do the MOCs connect with USAFA and the nomination gets officially uploaded and turns green or do we need to do something to get it uploaded?

They should handle it on their end! That's what happened in my case, at least. (state of NC)

Just give them some time to upload it to the portal.

The MOCs submit their slates to the SAs. The candidate-facing portal will eventually get updated. No action required.

The MOCs may notify but may not have uploaded the slate yet.

This time of year SA Admissions are updating thousands of candidate files with incoming info (all that stuff you submitted? Multiply by thousands.), in the midst of resolving hundreds of MOC slates, watching applications still being submitted, requesting medical waivers.. and there are not thousands of Admissions staff.

If you don’t see a portal update in the next 3 weeks or so, check with Admissions.

Awesome! It posted within about 24 hours which is great! Today when we logged into her portal, another nomination box was green. The first one we got an email from the MOC. This one just showed up but it says "Oklahoma Senator 81 Nomination Received." Does that mean she got a second nomination?

It appears so from your description -- great news! The 2nd nomination provides another opportunity for your daughter to earn the appointment.

Yes! She got the official Nom in the old school mail today so she officially received two. We know 2 kids personally from the same district that both had LOAs and both got the Rep nom. We don't know of anyone else who got the Senator Nom so hopefully that's a good thing!
