Nomination Status

I'm wondering the same thing.
Anytime from tomorrow to sometime in April or May. It’s a waiting game. A principle nom doesn’t guarantee an appointment if the Academy doesn’t find you 3Q. It’s just a waiting game now, but congrats on the principle nom. I wish mine gave out a principle nom and not just an unranked slate.

I received a principal nom in mid-November and was offered an appointment in mid-December. So for me it took about 1 month. However, I don't know if all principal nominees will experience the same timeline as me. As others have already said, if you are a principal nominee and 3Q'd you will be offered an appointment. That is the important thing. Spend time with family and friends and enjoy your senior year!

There are literally dozens of posts recently and historically that answer this question.

Hmmmm, not really sure why there is a search button then at all.

Or why some threads asking the same question, addressing the same topics, etc. get closed or consolidated while others don't.

Or why other posts that direct people to the search feature don't receive a mid-thread "comment" with regard to this "policy."

Deep mysteries of SAF. Guess it will just be easier to "scroll past" anyway, and thanks for the advice!

I'm sorry, pal, but I don't know why this concept is such a stick up for you. I've seen you dozens of times commenting the exact same thing. Ya know what? If you think people shouldn't be asking, don't waste your time in answering! Some people just want the easier answer, and there's nothing you can do about it. Search tab filters out several short words so it has little use anyway! So keep it to yourself from now on, please.

Thanks for your valuable input "Mike Stern." However, a few issues need to be addressed:

First, i'm not your "pal."

Second, if you are some other SAF member with an axe to grind and want to create a fake/alternate profile to just post this with your "1 post" then so be it, but it is pretty obvious. Joining at 7:26 am today and posting 5 minutes later sort of gives it away, don't you think?

Third, hyperbole and exaggerations are almost always the tools of a weak argument. "Dozens?" Not even close - not by a long shot.

Fourth, if you (or others) don't know how to use the search function then just admit it. Saying "it has little use" is simply incorrect, and the "one word, two letter" fall back is tired and old. Lots of posts on here on how to search SAF but yeah, I guess you have to know how to search first. Try Google with SAF as the forum with the terms you are looking for. You can find Google at www.google.com - trust me, it is there.

Fifth....ahhh just forget it.

Have a great holiday season!

Asking a simple question should not get that kind of response. There are posts like that, but it’s not the easiest to find them.
Another way to look for stuff is to Google the question. Usually, a SAF response is one of the top 5 results.

Another thing to try is an advanced search here on the forums. That’s been helpful to me as well. The search tool didn’t work well for me in the beginning either. I’m certain it was user error.

Absolutely!

So were “TheRightStuff” and “MikeStern” BANNED from the Forum due to the above banter? Both users now appear in big bold red letters as BANNED users...TheRightStuff has provided useful commentary in the past, and although his above response to a frequently asked question with a link to the Search function was a bit curt, and some may consider ‘rude’, does Banning them help anyone here?

Just sayin’...

Sometimes they get a time out. Sometimes there is inappropriate private messaging we don’t know about. Everyone agrees to certain rules when they make their accounts. And violation of the rules can get you banned. Usually for a bit, at least at first.

Understand...

The same YOY questions are great. I like seeing candidates ask, and putting themselves out here trying to better themselves. It was not so long ago we were all newbies. While the layout and threads are great, it's overwhelming at first for anyone. And the same questions are exactly what the current cyclers are all wondering, and each year there are more great posts in each. It's unfortunate that the search doesn't work on 3 letter words and acronyms, like CFA, SLE, and TX-xx , but thank goodness ACNE is a 4 letter word! heh heh!

I suggest also following people you like. For nominations, search back by MOC5th, he posts periodically in spurts; great information in his posts.
