Nomination Title??

Hi all,

I am a senior from GA. I have completed my USNA App (except Physical), and all Apps and Interviews for nominations. I was pleasantly surprised to see I had received a nomination from one of my senators. I am fairly certain of which one, but not 100% certain.

On the portal, under source it says "Georgia Senator 2". Does anyone have any idea what the "2" is referring too? Does it signify a certain Senator, or maybe where I rank? Any clarity anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Probably the junior senator (the senior is the longest serving). This isn't always the case though, because my DS's was from Senator 2 and it was the senior senator. You won't know for sure until you are notified.
 
Not exactly sure how they do it, but I know that Jon ossoff is class 2 senator and warnock is class 3. So maybe it means ossoff?

I only got interviewed for SEN Warnock's office but have not received anything email or portal-wise yet. Do you have any more info on this?

Typically the senior senator (ie the one who has been in office the longest) is senator 1 and the junior senator (the one who has served for less time) is senator 2. This is the case for nominations from North Carolina. Albeit there may be exceptions to this general trend.

I'm pretty sure Warnock and Ossoff both assumed office on the same day.

Jon Ossoff's office said you wouldn't hear back till the first week in January so it is probably Warnock.

Warnock is the junior senator for Georgia. They "assumed office" on the same day but Ossoff was a normal election and Warnock was a special election with less than 6 year term.

Do you recall the timeline for Senator Warnock's office to schedule an interview? My DS had all application materials submitted by the Sept. 1 deadline and I'm curious at what point they reach out to candidates for interviews. And did you receive any communication post-Sept. 1 that you were on their list of candidates they would be following up with? TIA

Be prepared for the fact MOCs may conduct their nom process any way they wish, including varying the process from year to year, as well as due dates, application formats, info requested, choice of slate ranking methods, interview/no interview/only interview a certain percentage or top X of applicants by whatever criteria they choose. They may also choose to not participate in the nom process (rare for Senators) and may nominate from 1 to 15 names on a slate.

Did you ever hear back from Warnock? He had interviews this last Saturday, 11/9/24.

Or he may never hear anything until a nom appears in his portal! The only thing to do is blank the mind and press on.

Still nothing as of today. FB group says his interviews last year were dec 8th or close to that. She interviewed with warnock and our district 1 MOC, so we are just thinking if she doesn't hear anything by next week, we don't have to wonder anymore. She just got an LOA this morning for USAFA so I believe we are in a good place!! Of we hear I will definitely let you know
