Not informed about my nominations

Hey, so I have a question regarding the possible normality of my situation. I received my nominations a little more than a week ago, but I ended up seeing them on my application portals and not a direct notification from my MOCs. My MOCs are yet to reach out to me, so I am just curious if they plan on contacting me? My nominations are already on file across my three applications so maybe a heads up isn't warranted? Some of the newspaper editorials in my state are releasing some of the nominees, so do they usually let the editorials do the announcement?

MOCs can run their processes anyway they want, and I am sure you will find similar lack of notifications around the country.

That being said, it isn’t a wise political move for them not to inform candidates (our rep called my son on her cell phone, gave her USNA grad son’s cell phone number and encouraged him to contact either one).

The object is the nomination. Not the notification. Congrats.

I agree with @A1Janitor. I have student every year that experience the same; finding out about a nomination through their SA portal and not hearing the news first from their MoC. Kind of odd, but it happens routinely as I have witnessed over the years. Congratulations on your nominations!

My son received nominations from a senator and our congressman - neither's office ever called. Depends on the individuals. Both eventually sent sent letters from their staff (although one got both his first and last name wrong). What matters is you got a nom. Congratulations!

Similar situation. I got a notification (phone call from the staff) from my representative. It was only a week (ish) later when I opened my portal, that I saw that I also got a senate nomination.

I have no advice to offer as I am just a first-time applicant, just want to share my experience and the similar level of confusion/fear I'm feeling ;)

My DS got a call from one of our Senators, notifying him of being selected for nomination. This was followed up by a formal letter and press release announcing all the nominees to SAs about 2 wks later. The other Senator & our MOC did not contact, but noms from them showed up in his portal. The personal contact from the Senator was very much appreciated but in the end the goal is the nomination. Congrats on your nominations!

I had a similar experience to what was posted here. I got a call from my Rep on the 29th (principal nom) and when I was looking in my partial later on, I saw that I got a competitive nom from one of my Senators (surprising on both accounts, as I am from an affluent district and don't have the best GPA. I think it was 100% the interview that got me both nominations) Got a letter in the mail a week or so later.

Principal Nom from my Rep, didn't even get a call. I got a short email saying "Congrats on your nomination" (didn't specify what type) and that's it lol
