So as we wait, and wait, and wait.... I have taken the steps to secure my plan B. The university I have chosen has an NROTC program which I would like to join. I also was interested in Greek life. Anyone out there have any experience with knowing if it's possible to do both? I guess my question is, does NROTC have rules about that?

Yes it is possible. I have many friends who are involved in both out battalion as well as a Fraternity or Sorority. However, it is worth keeping in mind that Greek life undeniably involves things like alcohol consumption, or other....*interesting* actions that can detract from your development as a future naval or marine corps officer, or can get you in trouble. The risks are obvious and the rewards not so much (in my humble opinion as a member of a frat known as NROTC). Units themselves won't have rules about it, except for the usual don't drink underage and don't do stupid things rules.

Yea, those are valid points. That's why i wasn't sure if it was permitted. The university I will attend, if i get a TWE, has NROTC but not on their campus. There are a group of them but they travel to a different local university for all of their activities and training. It's confusing to me.

I was in AFROTC and a frat for some time. Tough to balance but a lot of fun

Ah, yes. Had a 4-year NROTC scholarship to Duke. They ran out of freshman dorm space and put me in the frat (a local one) with the worst reputation on campus--the frat was later banned. I had a good time while it lasted, but flunked out. Bye-bye, NROTC.

Took a year off and then started college again (work paid for it!). Ended up with four degrees so all's well that ends well, but I still don't recommend my method.
