I'm a high school senior and I've recently been awarded the NROTC scholarship to The Citadel. It was my #1 choice because of the athletic program.
I have heard from a current midshipman that the best way to go is by joining the Navy Reserve and going through RTC prior to matriculation week. This way, I would make a little extra money to cover room and board as well as serve as an enlistedman for four years, which could only make me a better officer. My question is... Is this even possible? If so, can someone shed some light into this? What are the pros/cons?
Thanks
Shawn
