Hello, Has anyone in NJ heard or been awarded the “Four year” after submitting for the first board? Wondering if we didn’t make it, because our status list as “no decision…”or if they just haven’t started to award scholarships. Thank you.

It appears that only a small percentage of completed applications were reviewed during the first board.

I’m not sure how it is for regular NROTC (I’m applying for NROTC-MO), but my officer recruiter communicated with me a letter and some other info about my selection status. The definitely have started approving/awarding scholarships. (At least for MO).

My son was awarded a 4 year in the first Board. He was not MO or NO though. And my understanding is that they only reviewed a small number of applications this time and will be reviewing many more this second Board.

Question? Was your DS applying for NROTC? Are you in NJ? Thank you.

Yes, he applied for the NROTC (as well as the AROTC).

We are in upstate NY.

He applied very early and was the first interview of the year according to the Navy officer who interviewed him. Not sure if that made a difference in his application being seen at the first Board.

All notifications have been sent out. I was told that even though there were around 200 applications ready, only 60 were reviewed this round. That was done in order to validate the new software system being used this year. So I would not read too much into anyone not hearing from the first board. Last year, many of those high up on the alternate list were not informed until February or March.
This post is from a different thread discussing a similar question about the first board this year. If you are not too familiar with GWU PNS (former PNS at George Washington University), search him in this forum and read some of his previous posts as he has some of the best insight on this subject.
