Son just got the good news on his NROTC-MO scholarship - for Notre Dame. Of course, they were quick to remind him that he still needs to be admitted to Notre Dame.

He applied to Notre Dame Early Action as was informed late last week that he was deferred (to Regular Decision.

Should we reach out to the ND admissions office to make sure they are aware of his scholarship?

"However, he said for ND's Class of 2022, about 75 kids were matched with ND as their first choice, and only about 25 of those were admitted to the University."

Yikes!

What state are you guys from? I’m still awaiting my results here in FL

Congrats to all who received good news. My son seems to have nerves of steel but I'm a nervous dad here in southeast Virginia. We are still waiting on results. Seems like many have heard already... is it time to worry yet. I told my son we should assume he got passed over on the early board and to keep training and focus on the February board. Be nice to hear one way or the other though.

In Northern VA we are tied to the Fredrick, MD recruiting station. We were always told that the results of the early selection board would be released "before Christmas". I suspect there may be timing differences across different recruiting stations, but I suspect they all have the goal of getting those early round decisions out by that deadline. In other words - you might hear today. Good luck. As you said, worst case is he just rolls over to the regular board.

By the way - my son was informed via email and then I got a phone call from the recruiting officer. The portal does not yet reflect the decision and I was told that could take a while.

Thanks for the intel rholt. His OSO said whether selected or not - they would hear from him. So maybe no news is still good news, but feels like down to the wire now. Anyways, thanks again for the response, congrats and Merry Christmas.

Hang in there @GSPDOG. There is still a lot of race to run. No news is, in a sense, good news here. If your DS didn't get a scholarship via the first board, there will be another in February. He could be waiting for the final result until April.

Thanks USMCGrunt. We've got plans A, B, C, etc. Crossing our fingers - but time to focus on Plan B (February board). Semper Fi
