I am a post-high school reapplicant. I have received a Congressional Nomination and I sent in my NROTC Nomination. From my understanding, admissions will pull people from the NROTC Nomination if they don't have a Congressional one for an Offer of Appointment. Will admissions even look at my NROTC Nomination? I am asking because I believe that my Letter of Recommendation says a lot about me and my NROTC performance that my application doesn't reflect. I believe that if they were to look at my Letter of Recommendation then that would give me a "boost" with admissions.

If you received a congressional nom, and an NROTC nom, you have two noms. Is that what you are speaking to? Were you informed that you received an NROTC nom? If so, you have both of them. All part of your one applicant number. All part of you, as a whole person. Is that what you mean?

If so, I would think that one of the most respected piece of your whole person look, would be how you did in the Officer ascension program of NROTC.

Where did you ‘hear’ it wouldn’t? Maybe I’m not understanding correctly. But, for sure, you could follow up with admissions that your letter will be included.

Good luck to you!!

There are only 20 official appointments that can be bookmarked to the ROTC nominations. In my eyes, that means they use those sparingly, especially if someone has other possible nomination sources.

With that said, if the selection board really wants a candidate, they will use whatever nomination source that makes the most sense to get that candidate. Putting together the class is a huge puzzle where they look at all aspects of a person, of the class makeup, and the available nomination slates that they can use for fulfill the appointments.
