Can anyone comment as to whether, for Navy ROTC applicants, the status description "Board Ready" is being utilized on Netfocus? My status has read "at NSTC for processing..." for 2 weeks now, and I was hoping to be boarded this week.
Or
Can anyone who has been boarded comment as to whether their application status changed directly from "NSTC for processing..." to "no decision..." or "winner..." ?

NROTC does not use the status of "Board Ready" or "Boarded". I believe the status show the "at NSTC for processing" for a few weeks, then changes to "No decision has been made" until it changes to Winner or a message saying a scholarship is not being offered. There is no way to tell for sure whether a board has reviewed the application just by the status until then. DS' friend received a message that he was not being offered a scholarship in late January or early February. Final decisions are in late April. (The friend who did not get a 4 year scholarship joined a unit as a college programmer, worked his butt off and earned a 3 year scholarship and is at flight school now)

I'll just hit enter on this since I typed it before seeing the post with the same info, above.

When the status in NROTC states "Your application is at Naval Education and Training Command for final processing and selection determination. Selection decisions will begin in late August and continue until the end of April. Once a selection decision has been made, your new status will be reflected." This all means application is complete and final, nothing is missing, and it's in the oven so to speak and now you just have to wait for a decision.

Years ago my DS's portal sat on "No Decision has been made on your application" for months too but it's the same "in the oven" status as above. I'd check the portal once a week just to make sure nothing has changed and to see if you were awarded a scholarship. but for Navy from my experience that doesn't mean you should start holding your breath and expecting a decision any time soon. Other than "winner", your stated status IS the status you want to be in for now, as it means you're "done" and can then await a decision.

Boarded, boarded under consideration were statuses that applied to the AROTC portal and application status, and for that AROTC portal, the red box around your status will show where you stand including up to hopefully "Winner". On that portal, the status red box moves along and your status can switch back and forth from Boarded to Boarded under Consideration while your packet is being evaluated. But Boarded and Boarded / UC are signs that mean "you're still in it" - you still have a chance.

Some people heard within weeks of seeing that message for NROTC. Other people waited for several months. Waves of rejections came in March and April 3 years back - one day in particular it seemed like they just closed out a lot of the candidates in the pool in mid-April as I recall. Buckle in, good luck to you, and thanks for your willingness to serve.

Typically, this means that the Interviewing Officer at the recruiting district has forwarded the NROTC package for review to NSTC (Naval Service Training Command). Assuming no missing documents or missing signatures, etc, it gets loaded into the hopper and waits for the next interview board. I am not at my desk to see our calendar, and I can't remember if there is a November board or not. There is one in the 2nd week of December, so I would suspect some results will be announced either prior to Christmas or at the New Year. And has been mentioned elsewhere, getting no answer simply means the package remains in the hopper waiting for the next board.

I know it can be frustrating, sort of like checking a shipping status at Amazon and simply seeing, "label created awaiting pickup"

Hello!
Quick question. My application was sent by my recruiter and received on December 10th. Do you think my application would have been ready in time for the December board? I don't want to get my hopes up, but I would love to have made it in time for that board. Thank you so much!

Just checked with my son, and he has the, "Your application is at Naval Education and Training Command for final processing and selection determination." in there. So, now he waits!! Hopefully he won't have to wait all the way to April 30th like he did last year for his Academy applications ...........
