Hi all, I recently signed an ISR contract for NROTC but have not yet received a school assignment from Pensacola. I was wondering: Does anyone happened to know how much 'pull' NROTC units have on admissions, and more specifically at schools that are very competitive (Ivies, privates like Northwestern etc.)? I understand at smaller privates who do not have the massive endowments these elite institutions have, NROTC can be very influential.

I received a letter from Yale's NROTC battion CO and the AFROTC DET CO talking vaguely about ROTC at Yale and how I looked like a 'potential candidate', so I called them to ask if the scholarship would be beneficial in admissions, but I got a vague 'you look like an academically qualified candidate; maybe, we'll see.'

Unless you applied early admission or to a school with rollng admissions, you won't know until March, April when the school sends out the acceptance notices.
