DD received a ISR for NROTC but she is still waiting decisions from schools. What steps are next? She wants to emails the schools ROTC detachments and let them now she is pending a decision but has received the scholarship. Is this appropriate?
We told her to wait??

If she applied early action to these schools then she should hear back sometime soon. In my opinion, it’s a good idea to email these ROTC units because it shows that you are interested and keen on joining these respective units.

She was advised not to early action by her guidance. We did not understand that thought process but supported the reccomedation.
She is awaiting a decision from USNA (has MOC nom) and USAFA (awaiting nom) qualified otherwise. Fingers crossed for her and all these other students with dreams of commissioning!

If she has received the NROTC scholarship already, then it should be to just one of the colleges. Make sure she has accepted the scholarship to that school and absolutely have her email the NROTC unit, as well as her Admissions representative to that that college to inform this and let her know that school is her top choice (assuming it is) and inform them that she will go there if she is admitted. Now, if she has simply been told that she has won the ISR scholarship, but has not been given the official scholarship, then I think it is premature to let the school know.
