So I got a FFS and have accepted it.
However, I my last semester of my senior year, I was able to maintain nearly all A’s except Calc,
Got a D, this was due to some extremely extenuating circumstances. Still have solid gpa and everything. Should I be worried, should I write a letter to FFS. Please help.

Contact them and try to explain your circumstance to them. That's the only thing that I know people have done whose grade dropped significantly.

Did you receive something from admissions or are you simply worried?

You should be fine. I would contact your Prep School if you have selcteded one and ask their advice as well.

simply worried. I will be sending them an email today.
I wouldn't rock the boat. It doesn't make sense to draw attention to it, and "this was due to some extremely extenuating circumstances" is not a good look. So you got a D, big deal. That's why you're at the prep school. Don't sweat it.

Good news, after talking with them they said we are all good. Phew, deep sigh
Well, Slight change, turns out the want me to explain my situation to the dean of admission, I hope that I'm still clear but like I mentioned, extenuating circumstances.

Go into it with the approach of “I have no excuse for my (your issue) but I have some good reasons. X occurred, and I let this impact Y, which led to Z. From this, I learned (to always try to be ahead or caught up on my academic work, to ask for help the minute I know I am struggling, to develop better study discipline, to take advantage of online study aids, to better control my emotions and keep my priorities straight, whatever your takeaways were). Though this was not a positive experience, I feel I grew and learned from it, and feel better equipped to handle these types of challenges at prep school and USAFA.”

Life is what happens while you’re planning to do other things. This won’t be the first time “stuff happens” that will threaten to derail you. The Dean needs to know you have the determination and grit to get through the low points you will undoubtedly experience at prep school and USAFA. Don’t forget to express your appreciation for the golden ticket of FFS!

Much respect for making the hard decision of letting them know. Good luck and keep us posted!
