Hello everybody. 2 questions here.
I received correspondence from my RC stating that I was only physically and academically qualified (Jan.14), yet later (Jan.20) I was medically qualified. I am technically 3Q, and yet I have not received the actual 3Q letter yet. Will not receiving the official letter delay any chance for appointment?

My RC (far west) is out of the office until February 2nd. In his absence, is he the only person who can send the 3Q letter? So will I have to wait until he is back to receive it. Thank you to anyone who can help:)

I was in the same situation. I received my medical waiver (October) and physical/academic qualification (September) letter about a month apart. I never received a 3Q letter, but I got my appointment this week. I do not think that it is something for you to worry about. I was worried about it, but I do not think it will delay appointment. Good luck!

Awesome, thank you. And congratulations on your appointment!:)

You do not need the 3Q letter, although it does provide some comfort; it is merely confirmation of your status and has no bearing on your chances of appointment. In other words, it is the status that matters, not the confirmation or lack thereof.

Unless there is something urgent (a 3Q letter isn't urgent), wait until a few days after the RC gets back. Otherwise your correspondence may get overlooked in the large volume of emails sure to be awaiting the returning RC.

Just a thought - an RC away from office for about two weeks in the middle of admissions cycle may be at USMA presenting files.

Thanks for the info! What would presenting files mean?

Files of candidates being qualified or considered for appointment. I used "presenting" loosely - I don't know precisely how admissions meetings are conducted. And today more business may be conducted virtually - away from the office could mean locked at home in virtual meetings. It could also mean something entirely unrelated to admissions - just speculating why an RC would be away that long in the middle of admissions season.

As the admissions officer for the geographic region, the RC calculated the WCS score, and is the person most familiar with the candidate and able to answer questions that may come up.

There is a video of a USNA admissions committee meeting somewhere on this forum that gives some perspective on how a file is reviewed.
