OHIO State NROTC?

I believe you have a chance to get housing paid for at Ohio State ROTC. It’s one of my DS’ schools and he’s been accepted, just waiting on word for the ROTC scholarship.

I was very impressed with the NROTC and AROTC during multiple visits to Ohio State.
Plusses for NROTC:
Great community engagement
Great education for most majors - though their aviation / flight program was underwhelming despite it's high ranking.
Strong alumni network for NROTC.
Seemed like a great place.
Apply EA so you are eligible for additional merit moneys that can be applied toward room and board.
Otherwise room and board support was very limited at this school from the units themselves (as of 2 years ago). They offer a select few room and board and a new PMS can change how that is allocated.

Recommend you go visit - see their facilities - talk to active midshipmen. and check out their other branch units as well.

If you have specific questions I and others can try to help answer them.

Just down to the southwest there is a MUCH better option for NROTC at Miami University... 😀

IF you are working with an NROTC scholarship, the school allows ALL academic scholarship $$$ to be used for room and board. Late in the process and you probably haven’t applied for Miami academic scholarships, but Miami is an amazing school, campus and NROTC unit for an idyllic college experience that everyone wants.

If you’re sharp enough to get an NROTC scholarship, you’re easily sharp enough to get enough academic $$$ for FREE COLLEGE when combining that NROTC scholarship.

Hopefully it’s not too late to at least look at MU.

Good luck to you!

Heyoo while I’m not NROTC, ROTC in any branch at OSU rocks
