Open an application

Hello everybody,

So I applied to the naval academy summer seminar, but I have not received an acceptance yet. I also applied to SLE at USMA and with that I opened my account with my portal and everything. So how does the Naval Academy work with opening applications with my portal and stuff? Will I get an account number or something if I get accepted to the summer seminar or when all acceptances are given out?

If you meet the criteria to move ahead as an official candidate, you will receive a candidate number.
Whether or not you get accepted to NASS, has no bearing on getting assigned a candidate number.
USNA will send an "ECandidate Packet Letter" via EMail, with login information for the Candidate Information System (referred to as "The Portal" around here).
My DS received his ECandidate Packet Letter in May of last year.

With NASS there's no portal to check, you just have to wait for an email. You don't get a portal with USNA until you become an official candidate - usually closer to the summer months and after you'd hear about NASS (it's different for some of the other service academies where you get a portal immediately).
