PRT grades are calculated by event scores. Certain rep counts (or range of reps) and ranges of times (for the run) get assigned a certain amount of points. Add up your scores and your grade corresponds to the sum divided by 300. Whatever percentage that gives you will be your PRT grade. So an 85 will be a B while a 91 will be an A. You need to get a minimum of 60 points on each event and pass the BCA to pass the PFA (BCA and PRT combined). If you fail the BCA, you fail the PRT. If you are weak in one event, but still passable, you can still get a decent score. A lot of people max, max, relax (I.e. max the strength portion and not go all out for the run).
Your PE classes will have their own grading criteria. Swim classes vary (some grades will be based on timed swims and others will be on stroke/skill proficiency). Combat classes (Boxing, wrestling, etc.) are mostly based on demonstrating learned skills and getting the upper hand in the bout. In other words, to get a decent grade, you can’t just sit there and take blow after blow. You don’t have to win, but you need to give your opponent a decent match using the skills in the class.
Your overall PE grade is 2/3 PE class grade and 1/3 PFA grade. If you are in a semester where you have two PE classes in a semester, then each class will be weighted 1/3 and the BCA will stay weighted as 1/3.
You need a B in PE for the honor lists.
