Any PA19 applicants here?
Yes... I live in PA-19 and am applying to USMA.
Sweet! Interviews are coming up. Pretty nervous.
Do you know of anyone in our district who got an LOE?
Yes, I'm pretty nervous for interviews too. I don't know of anyone in our district who has gotten an LOE.
Do you happen to know how many candidates have applied for a nomination from Congressman Platts?
I am not sure how many have applied to Platts, but my MALO said a few weeks ago that I'm one of the few kids that was even halfway done with the application; at the time I was entirely finished. I'm not sure how popular USMA is around here, but I know alot of people wanting USNA simply because it's closer for a lot of us.
I have not heard of any LOEs either.
I am set on USMA... It is the only service academy I am applying to.
Have you also applied to Senator Toomey and Casey for nominations? I just finished those applications last week. I am not sure when they will start sending out notifications to applicants selected for interviews.
I applied to all three, but USMA is myt 1st choice. Toomey and Casey I also applied to, and I finished those applications months ago and have not received anything yet. So don't worry. I talked on the phone with Toomey's secretary and she said that they are setting up the interviews of the people who are active duty military or who have to get the interview done ASAP due to college/other reasons. So don't worry.
But yeah, everytime I'm driving I'm always practicing interview responses with myself
Yes, the interviews can be overwhelming. Advice I have heard is to be yourself and be professional. When asked a question, pause to collect your thoughts and then provide an answer that completely answers the question. Just be yourself and bring your personality into the discussion and you will be fine.
