Hello! I’m trying to figure out what my DD will need to bring to NAPS, besides the list they provide ( socks, towels, bedding???) Anyone familiar, please help. Thank you!

Will defer to those that are more recent -but NAPS was not near a restrictive as Plebe Year. They issue the basics, but you can have comfort items as long as they fit in your locker. Need to bring civvies for liberty in Newport.

.
Like @Old Navy BGO says, NAPS is less restrictive. Dorm rooms in Ripley hall have private bathrooms too, although I believe they are connected to the room between … 2 roomies per room max … although our daughter had a room by herself one quarter.

December through April is down right cold in Newport …. Weighted blanket for extra comfort helps … and ample cold gear outside on liberty and exercising.
.

.
You can box blankets and cold gear up and send it later … November timeframe.

And basic care packages every week …
.

.
Newport is a beautiful place … get over to Cliff Walk, and also tour the Gilded Age Mansions …. The Rockefeller’s called them Cottages … They had remote Coal Fired power plants to heat the behemoths … and rails to bring the coal in

Fascinating …
.

What about socks, towels, bedding?
.
Basic linens and covers are provided … extra cold weather blankets is what they need later on.

Pack some towels, maybe 3, and wash cloths. But I think those items are provided.

Call the Main office at NAPS … they can tell you what to do about the towels.

I would send socks with your daughter … she probably has her favorite for sports and being out and about …

Thank you! You’ve been very helpful. We are on Long Island and it’s hard to believe we have never been to Newport. Looking forward to getting to know it.
