Only Day 2 of Swab Summer and already looking so forward to Parents Weekend. Does anyone have the schedule of events from last year? Is the Eagle in port in New London for tours? Thanks!

Congratulations to your swab!
I don't believe that Eagle has posted their fall schedule yet, so we'll have to watch for updates.

This is a generic schedule of the type of activities that take place during parents weekend. This was not last year's exact schedule. Most sports schedules have not been announced, but there is a home football game that weekend. There are usually other home games as well for some sports although some teams will likely have away games.

And this link (from last year) had information on cadet liberty, parking, events requiring registration, etc...

Last year Eagle was not around during Parents Weekend. The schedule for Eagle is here but as @ProudMom7 said it currently only goes through the Summer:

Also keep in mind that your cadet might have duty one of the days of Parents Weekend. There are 8 companies, so each company has duty every 8 days. Your cadet should know the schedule before the semester starts. If their company has duty one of those days, then they might have duty for an hour or more that day. If they have duty AT ALL on any given day, then they cannot leave campus. You could visit them on campus that day during time they have free, but they would not be able to leave. However, usually cadets whose parents are not visiting will be kind enough to swap hours (or just voluntarily take hours) for those cadets whose parents are visiting.

Just something to keep in mind. This is also a reason not to "surprise" your cadet by visiting that weekend (or any weekend really). If they don't know you are coming, they might have duty and not be able to leave campus.

This is huge: Sports and extra-curriculars can also do this, and if you raised a nice kid she might just take on someone else's duty so they can get away. The schedules are very tight and not very limber, so as a parent just do as much advance work as you can and stay loose for late changes. Semper gumby.

Once Swab summer is over you can also encourage your swab to volunteer for duty early and often so that they have a better chance of not having to stand duty. It’s harder to ask for someone else to take your spot when you’ve done none of your hours you need to do.

I would also add that they may have made arrangements to visit their sponsor family.

DS was on the sailing team. There were often away regattas on parents weekend. We visited on homecoming weekend instead.
