Hi all,

I just had a few questions regarding my recent DQ. I was DQ'ed for a 'history of systemic allergic reaction to food or additives.' However, I have actually outgrown my allergy to peanuts and can now eat them regularly (I also have the paperwork proving this). However, I was still DQ'ed. Should this be expected? I know it says 'history of' but since I am no longer allergic should I be concerned?

Also, if USAFA does decide to initiate the waiver process, how would I be notified of their decision to do so? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Q= Should this be expected? I know it says 'history of' but since I am no longer allergic should I be concerned?
A = YES. You were DQd for the "history of." That DQ can "possibly" be waived, if the AF chooses to do so given your specifics.

Q= Also, if USAFA does decide to initiate the waiver process, how would I be notified of their decision to do so?
A= The decision to consider for a medical waiver is determined by USAFA Admissions. The waiver decision will be made by the AF and posted to the DoDMERB website :wiggle:
