Does anyone know if their will be a photographer during INDOC at USMMA / Class of 2027 that takes pictures of the Plebes over the course of their summer training?

If so, please respond back with a name or contact link.

Usually some of the midshipmen will take photos and posts will go on the USMMA FB page. Though sometimes they have used Kings Point Photography Club on FB too.

Some unsolicited advice, and I am only guessing what you might want. If you are thinking of singling out your plebe candidate during INDOC for extra attention, please reconsider. Anonymity is the goal.

They usually have photographers and they do get posted but there is a lag. Then it is "Finding Waldo" on your end. Once the male mids hair is shaved good luck, females a bit easier!

My son is 2026. Make sure you are on the Class of 27 Parents' Facebook page. When you drop off for indoc you will get a folder with their Company/Platoon. Make sure you get it, it's at one of the tents. When they post pics on the FB page they do a pretty good job of posting what platoon/company it is. So you'll see 301 and 502 raise the flag today, you know whether or not to expect to see your child. You'll look anyway, but you'll look with a different lens. You will look daily (or multiple times a day), guaranteed. You will see plenty of pics of your child. I was amazed at the job they did. I saw plenty of pics of my son. I believe (could be wrong) they posted a pic of every PC making their first phone call home. They took them all outside and had them yards apart and captured that moment. I love that pic. Males are harder to pick out. Sneakers are "mostly white" but they are all slightly different for the most part, that helped us with a positive ID for our son in group pics. Sounds crazy, the finding waldo analogy mentioned above couldn't be more right.

So as you scrolled the 230 pics below it started with B-01 (band company 1st platoon) and then as you scrolled it would show you when it changed to 101 etc.

I also remember that at Indoc they lined up when they entered Delano. That was the last time we saw them from afar, and they turned to face the crowd (we were in the grass) and gave us a wave. It was the best picture because somehow, we found my son. If you know the company # (given in that folder mentioned earlier), you may be able to find a spot to watch in the "area" of the company number. I THINK it was company 1 to the right (closest to the water), followed by 2. I am not sure if it went 1-6 then band, or if band was in the middle. The flags are numbered, but my eyesight could not tell what the number was.

The Alumni Foundation has posted 100+ photos of Indoc at their FB page. Links to social media aren't permitted here but if you do a Google search on the words United States Merchant Marine Academy ALUMNI facebook you should find the site. Scroll down a bit once there. You'll first see a video and under that are the photos. Click the +111 to see them all. Maximize for best viewing.

If you see your DD or DD, depending on how you are viewing, you can usually right click the image and then save it if desired.

This year the official USMMA FB page has been making extensive posts with photos.
